Seiko Prospex Fan-Selected Limited Edition Brings the Colors of the Sea to Life
A new 1965 Heritage Diver’s Watch shaped by a global fan vote, featuring a vibrant “Daytime Blue” dial and 300 metres of water resistance.
Seiko has unveiled a new Prospex diver’s watch whose design was selected directly by its global community of enthusiasts: Seiko Prospex Fan-Selected Limited Edition. Created following a worldwide voting campaign held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Seiko’s first diver’s watch, the new limited edition draws its inspiration from the constantly changing colours of the sea.
The campaign took place in July 2025, giving Prospex fans the opportunity to choose between four designs representing different seascapes, from sunrise through to sunset. The winning design was inspired by the sea under bright daytime sunlight, expressed through a vibrant blue colour known as “Daytime Blue”.

Inspired by the 1965 62MAS
The new Prospex is based on Seiko’s landmark 1965 diver’s watch, widely known among enthusiasts as the 62MAS. The original model featured an automatic movement and 150 metres of water resistance and established the foundation for Seiko’s subsequent dive-watch development.
The new interpretation retains the purpose-driven character of the original while introducing modern specifications. Its automatic Caliber 6R55 provides approximately 72 hours of power reserve, while the watch is rated to 300 metres of water resistance for diving.

A Dial Inspired by the Daytime Sea
The most distinctive feature is the combination of the vibrant blue dial and matching bezel, inspired by sunlight reflecting across the sea during the day. The dial also incorporates a wave-inspired pattern, referencing a symbol that has been closely associated with Seiko’s diving heritage.

The wave mark first appeared on the caseback of Seiko’s first titanium 600-metre saturation-diving watch in 1975 and has continued to feature on Seiko dive watches ever since.
On the caseback of this new limited edition, the wave motif is accompanied by the words “LIMITED EDITION” and the individual number of each watch. Production is limited to 4,500 pieces worldwide.

Modern Prospex Performance
The 40 mm stainless-steel case is finished with a super-hard coating and paired with a stainless-steel bracelet. A curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface protects the dial, while Lumibrite is applied to the hands, indexes and bezel for improved legibility in low-light conditions.
The watch also features a screw-down crown, screw caseback and a three-fold clasp with secure lock, push-button release and solid-and-slide adjustment. Alongside its 300-metre diver’s water resistance, the watch offers magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m.
Limited to 4,500 Pieces
The Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver’s Watch Fan-Selected Limited Edition will be available from October 2026 through Seiko Boutiques and selected retail partners worldwide. The European recommended retail price is €1,550.
By allowing its enthusiasts to determine the winning design, Seiko has given this Prospex something beyond its historical connection to the 1965 original. The vibrant blue dial is not simply a new colour choice, but the result of a design selected by the community that continues to shape the brand’s diving legacy.
