New Seiko Prospex PADI 60th Anniversary Limited Edition HBB002
Celebrating 60 Years of PADI and a Decade of Partnership Beneath the Waves
New Seiko Prospex PADI 60th Anniversary HBB002, a special Limited Edition diver’s watch celebrating the 60th anniversary of PADI® (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) and ten years of partnership between the two organizations.
The release highlights a shared commitment to underwater exploration, diver safety, and ocean conservation. Over the past decade, Seiko and PADI have worked together to promote responsible diving while supporting initiatives aimed at protecting marine ecosystems. For the last five years, Seiko Prospex has also partnered with the PADI AWARE Foundation™ through its Save the Ocean programme, helping support global marine debris removal efforts.
Limited to 8,000 pieces worldwide, the new Prospex combines one of Seiko’s most iconic dive watch designs with visual elements inspired by PADI’s 60th anniversary celebrations.

A Dial Inspired by PADI’s 60th Anniversary Logo
The new limited edition immediately stands out thanks to a dial inspired by the colours and visual identity of PADI’s 60th anniversary logo.
The vibrant blue dial serves as the backdrop for a globe motif that stretches across its entire surface, symbolising the worldwide diving community united by a passion for the ocean. Red accents appear on the seconds hand and above the 6 o’clock position, creating a direct connection to the anniversary branding.
Further enhancing the design is a blue ceramic bezel insert. Beyond its visual appeal, the ceramic construction provides excellent resistance to scratches while reinforcing the watch’s professional diving credentials.
The combination of blue and red elements creates a distinctive look that remains instantly recognisable as a PADI collaboration while maintaining the functional aesthetic expected from a Seiko Prospex diver.

One of Seiko’s Most Recognisable Diver Designs
The watch is built around one of the most enduring case designs in Seiko’s dive watch history.
Featuring smooth, flowing lines and the characteristic crown positioned at 4 o’clock, the case design has been trusted by divers for generations and remains one of the most comfortable professional dive watch layouts in the industry.
The stainless-steel case measures 45mm in diameter and 13.2mm thick, delivering a substantial wrist presence while maintaining the robust functionality expected from the Prospex collection.
A sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface protects the dial, while a screw-down crown and screw case back contribute to the watch’s 200-metre water resistance rating.
Built for Diving and Everyday Wear
Seiko equips the HBB002 with both a stainless-steel bracelet and an additional high-strength silicone strap.
The silicone strap features the words “Professional Association of Diving Instructors” and incorporates an accordion-style construction. This design allows the strap to expand comfortably when worn over a wetsuit while remaining equally comfortable during everyday wear.

Lumibrite on the hands and indexes ensures excellent legibility in low-light conditions, while the unidirectional rotating bezel provides the essential timing functionality expected from a professional dive watch.
With magnetic resistance rated at 4,800 A/m, the watch also offers additional protection against environmental interference encountered during daily use.
Powered by the Reliable Calibre 4R36
Inside the watch beats Seiko’s proven automatic Calibre 4R36.
Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz), the movement features 24 jewels and delivers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. The calibre has become a mainstay of the Prospex collection thanks to its durability, reliability, and ease of servicing.
Its combination of automatic winding and practical everyday performance makes it particularly well suited to a tool watch designed for both professional and recreational diving.
Celebrating a Shared Passion for the Ocean
More than simply another collaborative edition, the Seiko Prospex PADI 60th Anniversary Limited Edition celebrates two organisations whose histories have become closely linked through a common commitment to exploration, education, and ocean preservation.
By combining a proven diver’s watch platform with meaningful anniversary-inspired design details, Seiko has created a collectible piece that honours both PADI’s six decades of diving leadership and a decade of partnership between the two brands.
With production limited to 8,000 pieces worldwide, the HBB002 is likely to appeal not only to Seiko collectors but also to divers who share PADI’s passion for discovering and protecting the underwater world.
