Four Unique Rolex Daytona Raise £37.3 Million At Phillips Charity Auction

Four gem-set Cosmograph Daytona unique pieces, each inspired by a season, raise £37.3 million for the Federer Foundation and Re.

Four exclusive versions of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona have raised £37.3 million at a one-of-a-kind charity auction organised by Rolex in partnership with Phillips. Auctioned individually in London by Phillips Senior Consultant Aurel Bacs, the four timepieces brought together rare materials, coloured gemstones and diamonds in four distinct interpretations of the seasons.

The entire proceeds from the sale will benefit the Federer Foundation, founded by Roger Federer, and Re, co-founded by Leonardo DiCaprio. The total makes the auction the single largest consignment to a charity auction ever, according to the information released following the sale.

Four Seasons, Four Unique Daytonas

Rather than creating four variations of the same aesthetic, Rolex used precious metals, natural stones and coloured gemstones to give each Daytona its own identity. Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn are represented through contrasting combinations of dials, counters, bezels and gem-set cases.

All four watches share the same fundamental mechanical platform: Rolex’s Calibre 4131, with an approximately 72-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification. The individual executions, however, differ considerably in their choice of case metal and stones.

The four watches were auctioned individually, with no buyer’s premium applied. The full amount raised therefore goes to the Federer Foundation and Re.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Winter

The Winter edition, reference 126596 SABV, is housed in 950 platinum and sold for £10,000,000.

Its dial is crafted from blue opal, with lapis lazuli counters creating a deep blue composition. The hour markers combine eight baguette-cut diamonds with three square-cut diamonds, all set in 18 ct white gold.

The bezel is set with 36 trapeze-cut sapphires arranged in a gradient running from blue to fuchsia, with an approximate total weight of 5.57 carats. The lugs and crown guard add another 54 brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing approximately 0.86 carats.

Inside, the Daytona is powered by Rolex Calibre 4131, offering approximately 72 hours of power reserve.

The bezel carries 36 trapeze-cut purple sapphires, with an approximate total weight of 5.57 carats. As with the other three watches, the lugs and crown guard are set with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.86 carats.

£37.3 Million For Two Causes

Together, the four watches achieved a total of £37,300,000, equivalent at the exchange rates supplied for 28 September 2026 to approximately US$49.47 million, €43.49 million and CHF41.15 million.

The proceeds will support two organisations with different but complementary areas of focus. The Federer Foundation, founded by Roger Federer, supports early and foundational learning for children across Southern Africa and Switzerland. Re, co-founded by Leonardo DiCaprio, works to protect and restore wild ecosystems around the world.

For Rolex, the auction also represents a first: the four exclusive Cosmograph Daytona creations were presented specifically for a charity auction organised in partnership with Phillips. With no buyer’s premium applied, the entire £37.3 million proceeds will go to the two beneficiaries.

Beyond their individual values, the four watches form a single series built around the changing seasons. Platinum and blue opal define Winter, white gold and chrysoprase represent Spring, Everose gold and turquoise evoke Summer, while yellow gold and mookaite complete the Autumn interpretation.

Together, they turn the Cosmograph Daytona into a four-part study of colour, natural materials and gem-setting — while directing the entire result towards two charitable causes.
