Nour. In Arabic, the word means light – a quiet, enduring light that guides from within, carried through darkness rather than imposed from outside. For Anissa Bader, founder and CEO of AKHOR, Nour is more than a word. It is a personal compass, a direction rather than a destination.

Raised in a culture where the Arabic language carries centuries of memory and symbolism, she has always seen light as an invisible thread connecting decisions, creations and ambitions. That thread gave birth to AKHOR; today, it gives this watch its name. On the caseback, discreetly hand‑engraved in Arabic script, the word “Nour” becomes an intimate signature in the language of her heritage.

“Nour is the light that guides me – in this project, as in every other,” says Anissa Bader. With Nour La Lumière, AKHOR introduces a Day/Night complication into the architecture of its inaugural collection, transforming time from something measured into something contemplated.

Three Discs And A Moving Horizon

Nour La Lumière reveals AKHOR’s Day/Night complication through the brand’s patented three‑disc construction. Beneath the hands and the suspended dial, a large hand‑engraved disc in gold or platinum completes one full rotation every 24 hours, quietly tracking the cycle of the sky.

Day fades slowly into night, night returns to day, with the transition as seamless as changing light across a desert horizon. Dunes emerge in delicate bas‑relief under a grazing glow. Stars appear suspended in the depths of the night sky. In the foreground, a dromedary and its rider cross the landscape in miniature painting, executed entirely by hand on a surface measured in millimetres.

This pictorial illusion demands extraordinary precision. Using brushes composed of only a few bristles, the artisan builds the scene layer by layer: background, volumes, highlights and shadows, each coat drying before the next. Dozens of hours are devoted to a figure whose full intricacy only reveals itself under a loupe. Here, time is no longer simply read. It is observed, felt and contemplated.

Métiers d’Art: Where Precision Becomes Emotion

The AKHOR Nour La Lumière is, above all, a creation shaped by the human hand. Every element of the Day/Night display speaks of rare crafts and highly specialized skills. The disc is engraved entirely by hand, motif after motif – dunes, moon and stars sculpted in bas‑relief. Each gesture is final, with no room for correction.

Depending on the version, the disc is crafted in either 5N gold or platinum. Both are noble metals, but each demands a different touch, reacting in its own way to light and to the engraver’s tools. The miniature painting of the dromedary and rider adds another layer of complexity, requiring immense control over colour and scale.

The guiding philosophy is clear: free to imagine, free to create, free to pursue excellence. Nour La Lumière uses métiers d’art not as ornament, but as a narrative vehicle – turning the passing of day and night into a story told on a rotating disc.

AK10 And Three Discs In Equilibrium

At the heart of Nour La Lumière is the AK10 calibre, a hand‑wound mechanical movement developed exclusively for AKHOR and manufactured by CLAMAX. From the outset, the AK10 was conceived as an evolving architecture, capable of integrating major complications while preserving the Maison’s distinctive visual identity.

With Nour La Lumière, the movement receives its first complication: a 24‑hour Day/Night display. The construction evolves from two discs to three – the lower disc, the patented suspended upper disc, and the large hand‑engraved Day/Night disc that completes a full rotation every 24 hours.

This architecture is a study in balance. Each disc occupies a precisely calculated position within the 12.5 mm case height, with tolerances measured to the hundredth of a millimetre. Integrating a third disc carrying engraving, bas‑relief work and miniature painting required fresh calculations in equilibrium, energy transmission and mass distribution, ensuring both visual harmony and mechanical reliability.

Triple Excellence: Geneva Seal, COSC And Observatoire

Nour La Lumière is defined not only by its aesthetics but also by its certifications. The standards of the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal) apply to every component of the AK10 calibre: 126 movement components, 12 jewels, fan‑shaped hand‑finished Côtes de Genève, exclusive cushion‑shaped screws and manually finished gear trains. Every detail is scrutinized for decoration, construction quality and origin.

The AK10 movement is chronometer‑certified by COSC, guaranteeing precision within the strictest industry tolerances. The finished watch also holds the Chronometer Certificate of the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève, a distinction awarded to the completed timepiece as a whole.

Three certifications – COSC, Poinçon de Genève and Observatoire – together define one uncompromising standard. Nour La Lumière stands as a rare example of a métiers d’art watch that combines emotional narrative with rigorous chronometric performance.

Two Sensory Universes: 5N Gold And Platinum

Nour La Lumière is presented in two interpretations, each expressing a different vision of light.

The 18K 5N gold version evokes the warmth of desert light under the sun – that amber glow that illuminates dunes at dawn and dusk. Its 40 mm cushion‑shaped case is crafted entirely in 5N red gold, the deepest hue in the gold spectrum. A polished bezel set with 120 baguette‑cut diamonds totalling 4.85 carats frames the dial with a presence that is radiant yet restrained. The diamond‑set 5N gold folding clasp echoes this language on the hand‑stitched blue alligator strap.

The platinum version captures another kind of light: the cold, infinite clarity of the desert night sky. Platinum, among the rarest and most noble metals, gives the case a remarkable density and understated gravitas. Its cushion‑shaped 40 mm case and diamond‑set bezel echo the gold version’s architecture, but the atmosphere is entirely different – quieter, more lunar, attuned to the nocturnal cycle revealed by the Day/Night disc.

In both versions, a sapphire crystal with internal anti‑reflective coating protects the dial, while the transparent sapphire caseback reveals the AK10 movement and the hand‑engraved Arabic inscription “Nour”. Water resistance is rated to 30 metres, and production is strictly limited: 10 pieces in total, split across the two metals.
