Gerald Charles Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Asia Edition Introduced
An 80-Piece Limited Edition Celebrating Jade and Asian Culture
Gerald Charles Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Asia Edition, a special limited edition created exclusively for the Asian market. Limited to just 80 pieces, the latest release combines the Maison’s unmistakable design language with one of the most culturally significant and technically challenging materials in watchmaking: jade.
As Asia continues to play an increasingly important role in the world of independent watchmaking, Gerald Charles has chosen to celebrate its growing connection with the region through a timepiece that blends artistic expression, traditional symbolism, and technical craftsmanship.
The result is a vibrant interpretation of the Maestro that pays tribute to one of Asia’s most treasured materials while demonstrating the brand’s ability to transform complex ideas into wearable works of horological art.

Jade to the Maestro Collection
Stone dials have long been part of Gerald Charles’ creative identity and were a recurring theme throughout the career of the brand’s founder, the legendary Gérald Charles Genta.
Known for his fascination with unconventional materials, textures, and colors, Genta frequently experimented with precious stones as a means of pushing the boundaries of traditional watch design.
For the Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Asia Edition, Gerald Charles selected one of the most prized varieties of jade, chosen for its vivid green color, natural depth, and unique character.
Across Asia, jade is far more than a decorative stone. It has long symbolized prosperity, harmony, protection, and virtue, often carrying greater cultural significance than precious metals.
As an ancient Chinese proverb famously states, “Gold has a value; jade is invaluable.”
Crafting a Jade Dial Is an Extraordinary Challenge
While jade dials have appeared in watchmaking before, creating one specifically for the distinctive Maestro case shape presented a unique challenge.
Harder, more fragile, and significantly less predictable than many other ornamental stones, jade is notoriously difficult to machine. Transforming a rough stone into a finished dial requires exceptional precision at every stage of production.
Each dial begins as a raw jade block that is gradually cut into an ultra-thin disc before being shaped, milled, and finished according to the Maestro’s distinctive geometry.
The finished dial measures just 0.4mm thick, an extraordinary achievement considering the material’s natural brittleness.
To prevent fractures, the manufacturing process requires ultra-slow machining speeds, custom-built supports, and extremely tight tolerances designed to eliminate even the slightest vibration or pressure.
The rejection rate is exceptionally high, with virtually no margin for error. Yet this complexity is also what makes each piece unique.
Natural veins, inclusions, and tonal variations ensure that no two dials are identical, giving every watch its own individual character and organic texture.
A Minimalist Dial Designed Around the Stone
To fully showcase the beauty of the jade, Gerald Charles deliberately adopted a minimalist approach.
The dial is entirely free of indexes and numerals, allowing the stone itself to become the focal point of the design.
The only printed elements are the Gerald Charles logo and the “Swiss Made” signature, while polished silver baton hands provide excellent contrast against the vibrant green background.
Both the hour and minute hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova featuring green C7 emission for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions.
The result is a dial that feels simultaneously elegant, contemporary, and highly distinctive.
Ultra-Thin Comfort Meets Everyday Practicality
The Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin Asia Edition retains the characteristics that have made the collection one of Gerald Charles’ most popular offerings.
The stainless-steel case measures 39mm by 41mm and is just 9mm thick, preserving the sleek profile expected from the Ultra-Thin collection.
The signature asymmetrical Maestro case remains instantly recognizable, while the polished surfaces and vertically brushed caseback provide a refined contrast.

A screw-down crown featuring the brand’s Clous de Paris motif helps ensure a water resistance rating of 100 metres, making the watch suitable for everyday wear despite its elegant appearance.
The watch is paired with a white rubber strap featuring a Clous de Paris pattern, creating a striking contrast with the vibrant green jade dial and reinforcing the contemporary personality of the piece.
Powered by the Manufacture Calibre GCA2000
Inside the case beats the Gerald Charles Manufacture Calibre GCA2000.
This automatic movement measures just 3.7mm thick and features 189 components, 28 jewels, and a power reserve of 50 hours.
Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), the calibre offers hours, minutes, and central seconds while also providing resistance to shocks of up to 5G.

The movement is decorated to haute horlogerie standards, featuring bridges adorned with Côtes de Genève, perlage, and colimaçon finishing, complemented by gold-colored engravings.
A golden central oscillating weight featuring Gerald Charles’ signature honeycomb motif completes the movement’s visual appeal.
