LAPS Arche Studio: When Graphic Dials Meet Architectural Watch Design
A 37.5mm automatic watch that celebrates 10 years of LAPS with a new Studio range.
LAPS Arche Studio is a 37.5mm automatic watch that celebrates 10 years of LAPS with a new Studio range focused on design and architecture. Known for its graphic and original dials, the Parisian brand has always treated the watch as more than a timekeeping instrument, exploring the relationship between the object and the gaze. Inspired by the city’s creative energy, LAPS fuses graphic arts and design so that each piece becomes a meaningful object for those who recognise in it a certain way of seeing the world.
With the Studio range, LAPS Arche Studio opens a new chapter dedicated to watchmaking architecture, forms and materials. Arche is the first concrete expression of this Studio philosophy, translating the brand’s graphic DNA into a more structural case, refined indexes and carefully handled surfaces.

LAPS Arche Studio: Extending LAPS’ Design Language
With Studio, LAPS deepens its work on the watch itself. The range embodies a desire for singular, demanding watchmaking, expressed through clear lines, balanced volumes and a quest for essentials inspired by modern art and architecture. LAPS Arche Studio captures these principles in a watch that feels both dressed and distinctly contemporary.
The case has a brutalist, assertive profile with clean edges. Faceted indexes, influenced by high‑end watchmaking, give the dial structure and depth. A satin‑finished ring frames the opening, and each surface of the case is treated with particular attention to finishing. Together, these elements create a slim but characterful watch aimed at those who seek pieces that are both elegant and distinctive.
For the launch, a single basic dial concept is interpreted as two different series, each with its own material and visual atmosphere: Série 01 “La minérale” and Série 02 “La minimale”.

Arche Série 01 – The Mineral Dial
Série 01 is “La minérale”. It completes the architectural vision of the Studio range by drawing inspiration from a well‑known building by Korean design studio WGNB, whose textured façade appears to change with the light. On the wrist, this idea becomes a matte dial with a mineral‑like surface that evolves as angles and reflections shift.
The matte finish gives a more tactile, architectural impression, emphasised by the dial’s texture. In the “La minérale” version, LAPS Arche Studio uses this mineral dial in two colours: Vert (green) and Ivoire (ivory). These tones reinforce the idea of materiality and calm presence, pairing naturally with the Arche case’s graphic lines.

Arche Série 02 – The Minimal Dial
Série 02 is “La minimale”. Here, the emphasis is on contrast of materials and graphic simplicity. The enamel‑style dial finish has a glossy sheen that adds visual depth and highlights the faceted indexes. The interplay of light on these polished and brushed facets gives the dial a unique presence within a minimal design.
A key graphic detail is the seconds hand: a rounded “trotteuse” with a bevel matched to the dial finish, creating a subtle kinetic effect as the hands move. In the “La minimale” configuration, LAPS Arche Studio offers this glossy dial in two colours, Bleu and Noir, for a more dressy, graphic interpretation that still respects the Studio philosophy.

LAPS Arche Studio Case And Lugs
The Arche case is conceived as a raw piece to be shaped. It is built from five distinct components so that each surface can be treated precisely. The bezel borders a flat sapphire crystal and shows a contrast between vertical brushing on the upper plane and a polished chamfered bevel, underlining the architectural feel of LAPS Arche Studio.
At just 9.8 mm thick, with a width of 37.5 mm and a 44 mm lug‑to‑lug length, the case offers a slim, dressed silhouette on the wrist. The proportions balance presence and comfort, giving the watch a refined stance rather than an oversized one.
The lugs are a signature of the case line. Shaped like arches, they are individually machined and attached to the central case body. This specific construction allows for sharply defined angles and faces, with finishing that can be perfectly controlled, echoing the structured inspiration behind the model.
Indexes, Hands And Date
The dial indexes are drawn in anamorphosis, creating an impression of volume despite their extreme thinness. Each index multiplies polished and brushed facets so that light plays across the dial, giving LAPS Arche Studio a distinctive graphic identity. A rhombus‑shaped date window at 4 o’clock completes the composition without breaking the overall balance.
The hands have an asymmetric geometry that mirrors the angular nature of the indexes and contributes to the watch’s visual equilibrium. In a nod to the case, their surfaces alternate brushed and polished finishes. The seconds hand is deliberately discreet, but its beveled edge catches the light and introduces a subtle, continuous movement with each passing second, reinforcing the kinetic side of the design.

Movement, Specs And Pricing
Inside LAPS Arche Studio beats the Miyota 9015 automatic movement, a reliable calibre with a 42‑hour power reserve. Final assembly is carried out in Paris, tying the watch directly to the city whose creative energy shaped the brand’s visual language.
The case is made of 316L stainless steel, with a flat sapphire crystal featuring anti‑reflective treatment. The screw‑down transparent caseback offers a view of the movement, underlining the mechanical character of the Studio range. Water resistance is rated to 5 ATM, making the watch suitable for everyday wear.
A matching pin buckle echoes the Arche case, recalling the lines of the mid‑case and its demanding finishing on the strap side. During the launch period from 4 June 2026 to 6 July 2026, LAPS Arche Studio is offered at 690 € (TTC, all taxes included). From 7 July 2026, the public price will be 860 € TTC, with deliveries planned from September 2026.
