Furlan Marri Outback Songlines: A New Time + Tide Edition

Inspired by the ancient Songlines of Australia, the new Furlan Marri × Time + Tide edition combines a warm Outback-inspired design with a 39mm hunter-style case.

Furlan Marri and Time + Tide come together once again with the new Outback Songlines, a special Furlan Marri Edition inspired by Australia’s vast landscapes and the ancient tradition of Songlines.

Available exclusively through Time + Tide, the new watch combines a warm brown and rose-gold dial with a 39mm stainless-steel hunter-style case, a La Joux-Perret G100 automatic movement and two interchangeable straps.

The Furlan Marri Outback Songlines is the second edition created between the two brands, continuing a relationship built around independent watchmaking, storytelling and community.

Furlan Marri and Time + Tide Continue Their Collaboration

Furlan Marri Editions are collaborative watches created with selected retailers and boutiques around the world. Each edition tells its own story while reflecting elements shared between Furlan Marri and its partner.

The Outback Songlines is the latest chapter in this series and marks the second Furlan Marri Edition created with Time + Tide.

The relationship between the two companies dates back to Furlan Marri’s early days and has developed beyond a traditional retailer relationship. Time + Tide has established itself as one of the watch industry’s prominent editorial voices, combining retail with storytelling and a strong focus on bringing enthusiasts together.

The new edition reflects that shared philosophy, using the concept of memory and storytelling as the foundation for its design.

The Story Behind the Outback Songlines

The name Outback Songlines refers to one of the world’s oldest systems of cultural and geographical knowledge.

For thousands of years, Aboriginal peoples across Australia have used Songlines — sequences of songs and chants that describe landscapes and help navigate vast territories.

These songs can contain information about waterholes, shelters, resources and important locations, allowing routes to be remembered and passed from one generation to another.

Beyond their practical purpose, Songlines represent an enduring connection between Indigenous communities, their ancestors and the land. They also preserve knowledge about ecosystems, natural resources and the balance of the environment.

Furlan Marri translates this concept into the watch through its dial, using deep brown and rose-gold tones inspired by the dry landscapes of the Australian Outback. The result is a design built around the idea of memory: a story passed on through generations and a shared narrative that brings people together.

It is a concept that naturally connects with Furlan Marri’s own approach to watchmaking, where storytelling and community have played an important role since the brand’s beginning.

A 39mm Hunter Case Inspired by Vintage Watches

The Furlan Marri Outback Songlines revisits the hunter-style case previously introduced by the brand with the Red Hunter, but increases the diameter from 36mm to 39mm.

The design draws inspiration from historic hunter-case pocket watches, which featured protective covers over their crystals. These watches were particularly associated with hunters, equestrians and military officers who valued durability and legibility. Furlan Marri adapts that historical concept into a modern wristwatch.

The stainless-steel case combines polished and brushed surfaces, creating contrast across its 39mm profile. Measuring 47mm from lug to lug and 12.06mm thick including the crystal, the watch retains a relatively compact footprint while incorporating the additional complexity of its double caseback.

The front and back crystals are made from scratch-resistant sapphire with five layers of anti-reflective coating and one fingerprint-resistant coating.

Water resistance is rated at 100 metres, while the screw-down crown further contributes to the watch’s everyday versatility.

A Double Caseback with a Hidden Detail

One of the defining features of the Outback Songlines is its double caseback.

The outer caseback follows the hunter-watch concept and can be opened through a discreet notch on the side. Behind it sits a sapphire crystal, allowing the wearer to see the movement and its rose-gold-plated rotor.

Opening the caseback also reveals a special Time + Tide engraving, giving the collaboration a dedicated detail that would otherwise remain hidden.

The movement’s rose-gold rotor was first introduced by Furlan Marri on the brand’s Anniversary piece, the Red Hunter, creating another connection between the two designs.

Powered by the La Joux-Perret G100

Inside the Furlan Marri Outback Songlines is the La Joux-Perret G100, a Swiss automatic movement previously used by Furlan Marri in its Cornes de Vache collection.

Manufactured in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the G100 offers a 68-hour power reserve and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz).

The movement features a tungsten rotor with a 4N rose-gold coating, while the finishing includes Geneva stripes, snailing and blued-steel screws. It is also decorated with the inscription: Furlan Marri, crafted with care, designed for details.

The G100 provides hours, minutes and seconds, keeping the dial focused on its design and proportions.

A Warm Brown and Rose-Gold Dial

The dial continues the Outback theme through its deep brown and rose-gold colour palette.

A combination of grained and lacquered finishes adds depth to the surface, while applied curved indexes and stainless-steel half-spheres provide additional dimension.

The outer ring is domed, complementing the watch’s rounded case architecture.

The hands are also domed and made from stainless steel, with the seconds hand receiving a 4N rose-gold plating that ties it visually to the movement’s rotor and the warm tones of the dial.

Two Straps Included

Furlan Marri supplies the Outback Songlines with two different straps.

A three-row stainless-steel bracelet, supplied with an adjustment tool and a brown calfskin leather strap, offering a warmer and more traditional alternative to the bracelet.

Both use a quick-release system, allowing the wearer to switch between them without specialised tools.

The stainless-steel pin buckles are signed and feature a brushed interior finish with an engraved reference number.

The watch is presented in a brown watch box designed to match the overall aesthetic of the piece and includes the certificate, archives and a cleaning cloth.

Exclusively Available Through Time + Tide

The Furlan Marri Outback Songlines will be available exclusively through Time + Tide.

The launch is scheduled for September 19, 2026, with an exclusive 48-hour online window at launch before availability continues across Time + Tide’s boutiques. The retail price is CHF 1,850.

By combining an Australian-inspired story with Furlan Marri’s vintage-influenced design language, the Outback Songlines continues the brand’s approach of using watches as a way to tell stories.

The hunter-style case, warm dial, decorated La Joux-Perret G100 and hidden Time + Tide engraving make this second collaboration more than a simple retailer edition. It is a watch built around the idea of stories being remembered, passed on and shared.
