Parmigiani Fleurier Carillon Tourbillon Introduced

A Thirty-Year Celebration Of Independent Haute Horlogerie

Parmigiani Fleurier Carillon Tourbillon to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the independent brand. An extraordinary haute horlogerie creation limited to just five pieces worldwide.

More than a commemorative watch, the new timepiece represents one of the Maison’s most personal and technically ambitious creations to date, bringing together minute repeater acoustics, a tourbillon regulator, and a deeply architectural design language rooted in restoration and mechanical heritage.

Inspired by a historic early 19th-century Perrin Frères pocket watch restored by Parmigiani Fleurier in 2000, the Carillon Tourbillon transforms historical watchmaking knowledge into a highly contemporary expression of independent Swiss haute horlogerie.

Inspired By Restoration And Mechanical Memory

For Michel Parmigiani, restoration has always represented more than preservation. It is a process of understanding the inner logic, architecture, and intelligence of historic objects before creating something new.

The Carillon Tourbillon embodies this philosophy entirely. Rather than reproducing vintage aesthetics, the watch reinterprets the mechanical and acoustic principles discovered during the restoration of the historic Perrin Frères pocket watch from the Sandoz Collection.

Its most distinctive feature — the four serpentine gongs — directly references the original pocket watch while transforming the acoustic structure into a modern sculptural design element visible beneath the sapphire crystal.

Interpretation Of Sounding Time

At the heart of the Parmigiani Fleurier Carillon Tourbillon lies a highly sophisticated minute repeater mechanism designed around four gongs.

Unlike traditional minute repeaters that use two gongs, the Carillon Tourbillon incorporates four individual notes:

  • One low-pitched gong for the hours
  • One high-pitched gong for the minutes
  • Two additional gongs dedicated to quarter-hour intervals

Together, these create a far richer and more harmonious acoustic experience, giving the watch a unique sound signature that immediately distinguishes it from conventional chiming complications.

The striking mechanism also incorporates a regulating flywheel that ensures perfectly controlled energy delivery and a consistent cadence throughout the entire chiming sequence.

A Movement Built As An Instrument

Powering the watch is the manually wound PF950 manufacture calibre, entirely developed and assembled in-house by Parmigiani Fleurier.

Composed of 456 individual components, the movement integrates:

  • Minute repeater
  • Four-gong carillon mechanism
  • 60-second tourbillon
  • Manual winding architecture
  • Ten-day power reserve

The calibre utilizes a complex three-barrel construction, including two superimposed barrels responsible for the gear train and one additional barrel dedicated exclusively to the striking mechanism.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement architecture reveals the full choreography of the chiming system in motion, exposing the hammers, gongs, and regulating components as the watch transforms time into sound.

A Modern Objet D’Art

The Carillon Tourbillon introduces a highly architectural design language that remains unmistakably Parmigiani Fleurier.

The 41.6 mm white gold case features vertically fluted gadroons inspired by classical columns, a long-standing design signature associated with Michel Parmigiani’s aesthetic vision.

Its hand-hammered “Morning Blue” dial combines silver and soft blue tones with a textured finish that reflects light dynamically across the surface. Rather than dominating the mechanical elements, the dial leaves space for the visible hammers and flowing serpentine gongs to become central visual components of the watch.

The tourbillon and power reserve indicator are intentionally positioned on the reverse side of the watch, preserving the calm and balanced appearance of the dial.

Handcrafted Finishing Throughout

Every element of the Carillon Tourbillon demonstrates the Maison’s focus on traditional craftsmanship.

The movement bridges feature hand-applied mezzo vibrato finishing, a decorative technique previously explored on Parmigiani Fleurier’s Objet d’Art creations. Executed entirely by hand, the engraved textures create a visual interpretation of resonance and vibration, echoing the acoustic nature of the chiming mechanism itself.

The dial, crafted from 18-carat white gold, is individually hand-hammered, ensuring that each of the five watches carries subtle visual variations unique to the artisan’s work.

A Rare Expression Of Independent Haute Horlogerie

With the Carillon Tourbillon, Parmigiani Fleurier presents far more than a celebratory anniversary watch.

The piece encapsulates the Maison’s entire philosophy: restoration as a source of creation, mechanical complexity guided by clarity and balance, and haute horlogerie conceived as an act of transmission rather than spectacle.

Limited to only five examples, the Parmigiani Fleurier Carillon Tourbillon stands as one of the most exclusive and artistically significant independent watchmaking creations of 2026.
