A Monochromatic Approach To Sports Watch Design

The NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport neomatik 34 all silver explores a restrained approach to sports watch design, bringing the dial, case and integrated bracelet together through a predominantly silver colour scheme. Rather than relying on contrasting colours, the watch uses different finishes and textures to create visual depth.

The silver-plated dial features a sunburst finish, while the small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock is decorated with an azurage pattern. Rhodium-plated hands and hour markers maintain the monochromatic appearance, while the gold-coloured “neomatik” lettering provides the only noticeable touch of colour.

The result is a watch that balances a distinctive presence with a clean and versatile aesthetic. Its compact proportions also make it one of the smaller sports watches in the NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport collection.

A Compact Stainless Steel Case

Measuring 34 mm in diameter and just 8.2 mm in height, the stainless steel case gives the Club Sport neomatik 34 all silver a particularly slender profile. Its proportions are supported by the space-saving architecture of NOMOS neomatik movements, allowing the watch to combine sports-watch functionality with a relatively discreet presence on the wrist.

The case is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. A screw-down crown helps maintain water resistance, while a red warning ring becomes visible whenever the crown is not fully screwed down.

Water resistance is rated at 20 atm, or 200 metres, and the engraved whale on the case back highlights the watch’s suitability for diving. This specification gives the model a practical dimension beyond its refined appearance.

There are two references: 758 and 758.SB. They share the same general design and technical characteristics, but differ in their case-back construction. Reference 758 features a screw-down sapphire crystal case back, offering a view of the movement, while reference 758.SB is fitted with a screw-down stainless steel case back.

Light And Texture On The Silver Dial

The dial is central to the identity of the all silver edition. Its galvanically silver-plated surface is finished with a sunburst pattern, creating subtle changes in brightness as light moves across it. The small-seconds subdial introduces a second texture through its azurage finish, adding detail without interrupting the overall monochromatic design.

The hour numerals and indexes are filled with white Super-LumiNova. The rhodium-plated hands also incorporate white luminous material, which appears white in daylight and glows blue in darker conditions. This provides the legibility expected from a sports watch while preserving the dial’s understated appearance.

The contrast between the sunburst main dial, the textured small-seconds display and the polished details creates a more complex visual effect than the restrained colour palette might initially suggest.

The DUW 3001 Automatic Manufacture Calibre

Inside the watch is the DUW 3001, an automatic manufacture calibre developed by NOMOS Glashütte. At just 3.2 mm in height, it plays an important role in keeping the overall watch profile slim.

The movement measures 28.8 mm in diameter and offers an approximate power reserve of 43 hours. Its bidirectional winding rotor supplies energy to the movement, while the NOMOS swing system, including its blued balance spring, is one of the manufacture’s distinctive technical features.

The DUW 3001 also incorporates a Glashütte three-quarter plate, a double-supported balance bridge, a stop-seconds mechanism and the DUW regulation system. It is regulated in six positions and contains 37 jewels. The movement surfaces are rhodium-plated and decorated with Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage, while the screws are thermally blued.

On reference 758, the sapphire crystal case back allows these details to be seen. Reference 758.SB, by contrast, has a solid stainless steel case back.

An Integrated Bracelet Designed For Everyday Wear

The stainless steel Club Sport bracelet continues the shape of the case, creating a cohesive design from the watch head to the clasp. Its combination of polished and satin-finished surfaces introduces further contrasts within the monochromatic aesthetic.

The bracelet is equipped with an integrated deployant clasp and quick-change spring bars. Its construction is specifically designed for the Club Sport neomatik 34, and it can be individually adjusted to fit the wrist. The bracelet has an 18 mm lug width.

A Slender Sports Watch With A Distinctive Identity

The NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport neomatik 34 all silver brings together the practical qualities of a sports watch and the restrained design language of the German manufacture. Its 34 mm case, 20 atm water resistance and integrated stainless steel bracelet provide everyday versatility, while the silver dial and contrasting finishes give it a distinctive visual identity.

The DUW 3001 manufacture calibre is another important part of the proposition, combining automatic winding, a slim construction and traditional Glashütte movement finishing.

With its compact dimensions and monochromatic execution, the Club Sport neomatik 34 all silver offers a different interpretation of the Club Sport concept: a watch designed to stand out through detail, texture and proportion rather than colour.
