Version Watches V0201-TH: An Invitation To Gain Altitude
A 38mm Swiss Made timepiece inspired by supersonic aviation, turbine mechanics and the distinctive design language of Andrée Putman.
Version Watches takes its second collection into the skies with the new V0201-TH, a contemporary timepiece built around the tension between the engineering of speed and the calm of high altitude. Inspired by the golden age of supersonic aviation, the silhouette of Concorde, turbine blades and the interiors of Andrée Putman, the V0201-TH turns these references into a watch defined by contrast, transparency and colour.
Founded in Paris in 2024 by Cybèle Vigneron and Carla Lanfranchini, Version Watches approaches contemporary watchmaking from a design-led perspective. The V0201-TH continues that philosophy with a composition that is deliberately graphic while remaining restrained, using the dial as a window into the mechanical movement beneath it.

Between Concorde And The Sky
The V0201-TH draws on several elements of the airborne world, but its inspiration is not limited to aviation. The sleek lines of Concorde and the repetitive geometry of turbine blades are combined with the refined interior language associated with Andrée Putman, particularly her work at the Putman Hotel in Hong Kong.
That combination is reflected in the 38mm stainless steel case, where polished and brushed surfaces alternate to create a balanced presence on the wrist. The architecture remains contemporary without becoming overly technical, while the dial introduces a more unusual interpretation of transparency.
Its lower section is finished in satin white, while the upper portion incorporates a semi-transparent coloured window. A progressive radial gradient allows the transparency to increase towards the centre, revealing glimpses of the automatic movement underneath. Rather than exposing the calibre completely, Version Watches uses this partial view to create a sense of depth and movement.

Three Moments Of The Sky
The V0201-TH is available in three colourways, each representing a different moment or atmosphere in the sky: Crépuscule, Ciel and Aurore.
Crépuscule uses an emerald green gradient inspired by the mineral tones of Putman’s interiors and the phenomenon known as the green flash, the brief green light sometimes visible at sunset. The coloured window is paired with a satin linen-white dial, a green cabochon crown and a dark green grained leather strap.

Ciel takes the collection towards a deep azure blue, evoking the transition between the atmosphere and the darkness of space. Its blue gradient window is combined with a pure white satin dial, blue cabochon crown and dark blue grained leather strap.

Aurore is the most energetic of the three, using a blood-orange gradient inspired by the heat and visual intensity of jet engines at daybreak. The colour extends to the carmine cabochon crown and burgundy grained leather strap.
Each colourway is limited to 100 individually numbered pieces, bringing total production of the V0201-TH collection to 300 watches.

Transparency As A Design Element
One of the defining characteristics of the V0201-TH is the way it reveals its movement without becoming a traditional openworked watch. The semi-transparent upper section of the dial uses a smoked effect borrowed from the visual language of solar watches, with its opacity gradually changing from the centre outward.
This creates an unusual relationship between the dial and calibre: the movement remains partially concealed, but its presence can still be sensed through the coloured window. The effect becomes particularly apparent in backlight, when the architecture beneath the dial emerges through the transparency.
The details surrounding the dial reinforce the aviation-inspired theme. The bezel features a polished beaded engraving, while the railway-style flange introduces another repetitive motif reminiscent of turbine blades. The same visual language continues onto the crown, which is fitted with a coloured cabochon matched to each version.

Swiss Mechanics Beneath The Dial
Powering the V0201-TH is the Sellita SW200-1 AJ, an openworked automatic movement selected for its robustness and reliability. The calibre is Swiss assembled and gives the watch a stated power reserve of approximately 39 to 41 hours.
The openworked architecture is particularly relevant to the concept of the collection, as it allows the movement to remain visible through the translucent portion of the dial while also being presented through an open sapphire caseback. The oscillating weight is engraved, adding another visual detail to the mechanical side of the watch.
The technical package is completed by a 316L stainless steel case measuring 38mm in diameter and 12mm thick, including the domed sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 5 ATM, while the interchangeable leather straps use a quick-release system.

A Second Chapter For Version Watches
The V0201-TH represents the second collection from Version Watches, following the V01-LCC launched in March 2025. While the earlier collection explored references ranging from 1920s furniture to 1960s automobiles and Charlotte Perriand’s LC4 chair, the new model moves towards aviation, architecture and the visual rhythm of turbines.
The result is a watch that uses transparency and colour not simply as decorative elements, but as part of its central design language. With its three atmospheres, 38mm case and Swiss Made automatic movement, the V0201-TH continues Version Watches’ approach of treating the watch as both a mechanical object and a piece of contemporary design.
Pre-orders open on September 24, 2026, exclusively through Kickstarter until October 24. The first 100 pre-orders are offered at €850 including VAT in France and Europe, before the watch moves to Version Watches’ own website and selected retailers at a retail price of €1,495 including VAT in Europe. Delivery for the collection is scheduled for April–May 2027.
