Patek Philippe Milano 2026 Brings Four New Complications To The Spotlight

From a new perpetual calendar chronograph to three Calatrava interpretations inspired by the colours of Italy, Patek Philippe marks its Milan exhibition with four distinctive limited editions.

Patek Philippe arrives at the Watch Art™ Grand Exhibition Milan 2026 with a selection of limited-edition timepieces created specifically for the occasion. While three new Calatrava and Calatrava-style watches form a visual trilogy inspired by the colours of the Italian flag, a fourth model takes the spotlight with a far more significant mechanical proposition: the new Reference 5978P-010 perpetual calendar chronograph.

Together, these four watches explore very different sides of Patek Philippe. The 7007G-010, 7147G-010 and 7047G-010 share a white-gold case architecture and lacquered dials in white, green and red, while the 5978P-010 introduces a new manually wound perpetual calendar chronograph with an instantaneous calendar mechanism and a distinctly contemporary blue and red aesthetic.

The 5978P-010: A New Chapter In The Perpetual Calendar Chronograph

Among the four Milan editions, the 5978P-010 is arguably the most technically significant. Patek Philippe presents it as a new manually wound perpetual calendar chronograph, a type of watch that has appeared only a handful of times throughout the manufacture’s history.

The new reference combines a column-wheel chronograph with an instantaneous perpetual calendar. Its calendar indications are arranged in three apertures across the upper section of the dial, displaying the day, date and month in Italian. The instantaneous mechanism changes the calendar indications within approximately 30 milliseconds, creating an unusually direct display of the perpetual calendar.

The movement is the new manually wound Calibre CH 29-535 PS QI, which contains 500 components and combines the chronograph architecture of the CH 29-535 family with the instantaneous perpetual calendar mechanism. The chronograph features an instantaneous 30-minute counter, while the perpetual calendar displays the day, date, month and leap year, together with a day/night indication and moon phases.

The 42mm platinum case takes a more contemporary approach than the traditional cases often associated with Patek Philippe perpetual calendars. Its concave bezel and slender, incurved lugs create a Calatrava-style profile, while the navy-blue sunburst dial transitions into a black gradient around the edge. A textured, concave centre and tiered construction give the dial additional depth, with applied white-gold markers and luminous dauphine hands completing the display.

The Milan connection is also visible in the details. The calendar indications are presented in Italian, while the navy composite strap features red stitching and a tricolour detail referencing the Italian flag. Limited to just 120 pieces, the 5978P-010 is an exclusive edition for the Milan Grand Exhibition. The supplied launch information lists a price of €320,757.

The 7047G-010 Minute Repeater

The first of the Milan trilogy takes the most complex acoustic route. Reference 7047G-010 combines a white-gold case with a red lacquered dial and matching red alligator strap, creating the strongest visual connection to the Italian flag.

Its 38mm case measures 10.24mm thick and houses the self-winding Calibre R 27 PS. The movement combines a minute repeater striking on two classic gongs with a small-seconds display and a 22K gold off-centre micro-rotor.

The dial follows the same contemporary language as the other Milan Calatrava editions, using a lacquered surface with a textured carbon-inspired pattern. White-gold applied numerals and baton-style hands provide contrast against the red background, while the sapphire crystal caseback carries the “Patek Philippe Milano 2026” inscription.

Only five examples of the 7047G-010 will be produced.

The 7147G-010 Perpetual Calendar

Green represents the second colour of the trilogy with the 7147G-010. Its 38mm white-gold case measures 9.72mm thick and houses the self-winding Calibre 240 Q, one of Patek Philippe’s established perpetual calendar movements.

The green lacquered dial features the same carbon-inspired pattern found across the Milan trilogy, combined with white-gold applied numerals and luminous baton-style hands. Unlike the more restrained visual language of a conventional time-only watch, the dial is filled with the information expected from a perpetual calendar: day, date, month, leap-year indication, 24-hour display and moon phases.

The calendar indications are presented in Italian, reinforcing the connection with Milan. A green alligator strap completes the watch, with a tricolour detail and a white-gold pin buckle. Production is limited to 100 pieces.

The 7007G-010 Calatrava

Completing the colour trilogy is the 7007G-010, a contemporary interpretation of the Calatrava with a white lacquered dial and matching white alligator strap.

Its 38mm white-gold case is the thinnest of the three, measuring 8.81mm. The dial carries the same textured carbon-inspired pattern, with white-gold applied numerals and baton-style hands treated with white luminescent coating.

Inside, the watch is powered by the automatic Calibre 26-330 S C, a 3.3mm-thick movement with a central 21K gold rotor. It provides hours, minutes, central seconds and date indications, together with a stop-seconds function.

The sapphire caseback is printed with “Patek Philippe Milano 2026”, while the white alligator strap incorporates green and red details as a direct reference to the Italian tricolour. The 7007G-010 is limited to 200 pieces.

Four Watches, Four Interpretations Of Milan

Although the three Calatrava editions are visually connected by the colours of the Italian flag, the four Milan creations reveal very different aspects of Patek Philippe’s watchmaking.

The 7047G-010 brings the sound of a minute repeater, the 7147G-010 concentrates an entire perpetual calendar into a classical 38mm case, and the 7007G-010 offers the simplest and most restrained interpretation of the group.

The 5978P-010, meanwhile, moves into another category entirely. Its combination of a manually wound chronograph and instantaneous perpetual calendar makes it the technical centrepiece of the Milan presentation, while its 42mm platinum case, blue-and-red palette and Italian calendar display give the watch a distinctly contemporary identity.

For Watch Art™ Grand Exhibition Milan 2026, Patek Philippe therefore does more than create a trio of colour-coordinated Calatravas. It uses the occasion to introduce a new chapter in one of its most historically important complications, placing the 5978P at the centre of a broader Milan collection that spans acoustic, calendar, chronograph and classical watchmaking.
