Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton: A New Expression Of Haute Horlogerie
A Fully Skeletonised Movement, 238 Hand-Finished Inward Angles And Two Limited Editions Of Just 15 Pieces.
The Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton marks a new chapter in the story of the Maison’s first creation. Building on the original Monday, introduced in 2024, this new interpretation embraces a fully skeletonised architecture, bringing the complexity of its mechanical construction to the forefront. Available in blue and green, each version is limited to 15 pieces.
Housed in a 40.8 mm grey gold case, the Monday Skeleton combines contemporary aesthetics with traditional watchmaking techniques. Its movement, the RVI2025, comprises 262 components, with 238 inward angles finished to a high standard of precision. Every element reflects the Maison’s emphasis on craftsmanship and meticulous hand-finishing.

Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton: Two Watchmakers, One Vision
The project brings together the expertise of Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier, two watchmakers whose skills complement one another. Dominique Renaud is recognised for his work in mechanical movement design and complications, as well as his mastery of skeletonisation, developed during his early years in haute horlogerie.
Julien Tixier brings a particular focus on artisanal finishing and prototyping. His work includes hand-executed bevelling, black polishing on titanium and the creation of inward angles. These techniques demand considerable precision and help define the character of the Monday Skeleton.
The result builds on the original Monday while taking its design in a more contemporary direction. Rather than simply exposing the movement, the skeletonised construction makes its architecture a central part of the watch’s identity.

The RVI2025 Movement And Its 262 Components
At the heart of the Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton is the new RVI2025 calibre. While the original RVI2023 movement was not designed specifically as a skeleton calibre, its architecture hinted at the possibilities of an openworked construction. The RVI2025 now fully realises that potential.
The movement reveals all 262 components, decorated and finished by hand at the Maison’s workshops in Tolochenaz, Switzerland. Traditional techniques include black polishing, rounded bridges, bevelling, Côtes de Genève, sunray finishing and circular graining.
One of the most remarkable details is the presence of 238 inward angles. Their execution is a testament to the time and skill invested in the movement’s finishing. Through the sapphire caseback, a decorative bridge above the barrel ratchet can also be seen. It is engraved and chased by hand and features grand feu enamel whose tones complement the colour of each edition.
The RVI2025 measures 36.8 mm in diameter and 6.83 mm in height. It operates at a frequency of 2.5 Hz, or 18,000 vibrations per hour, and provides a minimum power reserve of 72 hours. The automatic winding system incorporates a platinum micro-rotor and a flywheel, both central to the Maison’s distinctive approach to energy recovery.

The “Dancer”: Rethinking Automatic Winding
The Monday Skeleton retains the patented winding concept that distinguishes the original Monday. At the centre of the system is a flywheel coupled to a propulsion spring, nicknamed “the dancer”, positioned within the platinum micro-rotor.
This mechanism is designed to convert even small movements of the wrist into energy that can be used by the calibre. Inspired by energy-recovery technologies developed in the automotive world, the concept adapts that principle to mechanical watchmaking, where precision remains paramount.
The system also incorporates a declutching mechanism intended to protect the movement in the event of a shock. While the aesthetics and architecture have evolved for the RVI2025, the underlying concept remains unchanged: improving the efficiency of automatic winding through an unconventional mechanical solution.

Blue Or Green: Two Distinct Interpretations
The Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton retains the lines of the original Monday but introduces a more open and contemporary visual identity. Both editions feature a 40.8 mm grey gold case, measuring 12.6 mm in height, with hand engraving on the caseband and between the lugs.
The blue edition features a satin-finished petrol blue small-seconds counter, a matching brush-finished rehaut and a blue hand-stitched full-grain alligator leather strap. The green edition follows the same design language, replacing these accents with green details and a matching green alligator strap.
Both versions feature a skeleton dial, revealing the movement beneath. Skeletonised Dauphine-style hour and minute hands combine polished and satin-finished surfaces. Faceted appliqués sit on the lower level of the rehaut, while a white minute track occupies the upper level, providing contrast and legibility.
Water resistance is rated at 3 ATM, equivalent to 30 metres. Each watch is fitted with an 18-carat white gold pin buckle.

Limited To 15 Pieces Per Colour
The Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton will be produced in two editions: 15 pieces in blue and 15 pieces in green. Together, the editions represent a continuation of the Maison’s original Monday concept, now expressed through an intricate openworked movement and a more contemporary design.
Founded on the vision of Dominique Renaud and his partnership with Julien Tixier, the Maison was conceived around a collection of seven limited-edition timepieces, each associated with a day of the week and incorporating an innovation. The Monday was the first of these creations, introducing a micro-rotor fitted with a flywheel to improve the efficiency of automatic winding.
With the Monday Skeleton, Renaud Tixier brings that concept into sharper focus. The exposed architecture, extensive hand-finishing and two contrasting colourways place the craft of watchmaking at the centre of the experience.
The Renaud Tixier Monday Skeleton is a study in mechanical transparency, where traditional finishing techniques meet a distinctive approach to automatic winding. With only 15 examples in each colour, it remains a highly exclusive expression of the Maison’s contemporary watchmaking philosophy.
